How young people are faring: 10th annual report
How young people are faring 2008 is the tenth edition an annual series and the first to be published by the Foundation for Young Australians in alliance with the Education Foundation. The series was initiated by the Dusseldorp Skills Forum 'to draw attention to the need to improve Australia's levels of school completion, to enhance the participation of young Australians in productive and worthwhile learning and work, and to focus attention on the economic and social cost of young Australians not able to ride the up escalator of economic opportunity'.

2007 Australian National Children's Nutrition and Physical Activity Survey
The 2007 Australian National Children's Nutrition and Physical Activity Survey (from the Australian Government's departments of Health and Ageing and of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry and the Australian Food and Grocery Council, and released in October 2008) is the first to survey both dietary intake and exercise in Australian children.

ARACY Report Card
In October 2008, the Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth (ARACY) released its Report card on the wellbeing of young Australians. It provides data on 42 measures of the wellbeing of Australian children and young people, focusing on the domains of material wellbeing; health and safety; education, training and employment; peer and family relationships; behaviours and risks; subjective wellbeing; participation; and environment.

Youthspeak: A conversation for the future
The report 'YouthSpeak: A conversation for the future' describes findings from the YouthSpeak consultation project, reportedly "the largest for-youth-by-youth consultation in Australian history". In 'National survey of mental health and wellbeing: Summary of results, 2007', the Australian Bureau of Statistics presents a summary of results from the 2007 National Survey of Mental Health and Wellbeing, conducted by the ABS between August and December 2007. Around 8,800 Australians aged 16 to 85 years took part in the survey, which used World Health Organisation diagnostic tools to measure the prevalence of anxiety disorders, affective disorders and substance use disorders both over the course of an individual’s lifetime and in the previous 12 months.
