  • Volunteer Receptionist Needed

Volunteer receptionists are needed to help out in the Adelaide Activist Resource Centre on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.? If you are keen to volunteer for Amnesty and have skills in customer service or reception work, or simply want to gain some work experience in the administration and customer service area we are looking for you!
Based in the Adelaide Activist Resource Centre, 80 South Terrace, Adelaide.? Hours are 10am-5pm.?

Register now for the premier youth event of the year: Amnesty International's regional Youth Conference for Human Rights September 15-16 at the University of Adelaide.? Registration is open to all young people who want to make a difference and become 'Ambassadors of Freedom'.? The conference will offer participants the opportunity to learn about human rights issues in Australia and overseas, and develop their own skills to become advocates for human rights.?
The program includes a variety of workshops, covering hot debates on human rights issues, sassy campaigning tools, breaking the media code ideas and creative campaigning.? It will feature experienced key speakers, including:

- Anton Enus, SBS Newsreader and Journalist
-Julian Burnside QC, Barrister, Human Rights Expert, National Living Treasure
-Tom Zubrycki, AFI award winning documentary flimmaker
-Iktimal Hage-Ali, nationally renowned youth leader
-Senator Penny Wong (ALP)
-Hon Michelle Lensink MLC (Lib)
-Senator Kerry Nettle (Greens)

The Activist Resource Centre (ARC)

The primary resource centre for SA/NT has just moved to 80 South Terrace in Adelaide. The ARC coordinates activities and provides support for local activist groups and campaigns. Here you will find a range of campaign information and materials, Amnesty International merchandise, and other relevent publications and press releases. Come check out our new office and meet our friendly volunteers.
