The fine line: Students' perceptions of drinking, having fun and losing control

Summary: One of the strongest messages emerging from a series of focus groups conducted with Year 12 Western Australian students was that alcohol education programs that ignored young people's concerns are likely to be viewed by the target audience as irrelevant. This information was used in the development of the SHAHRP 2000 program, a quasi-experimental, research intervention involving over 2,000 students in Western Australia.
