Youth, the media and the duty of care
The controversial use of a lie detector during an interview with a mother and her 14-year-old daughter on a live radio show has highlighted the question of the rights of young people and their parents' duty of care, as well as the duty of care that is required of the media in relation to young people. RMIT University's Professor Judith Bessant, an expert on youth issues, is available for interview about this issue. See attached document.
