ACYS calendar of events in the youth field

11 - 14 Sep 2006 Adolescent Health Linkage program
The Centre for Adolescent Health is offering eight funded places for rural women working with young people to come to Melbourne to participate in a 4-day program to upgrade their skills and knowledge around working with young people. The program includes workshops, informal discussions and fieldwork visits, during which you will be exposed to the latest research and have discussions and hear from leaders in the field of adolescent health. This program has arisen out of recognition that rural professionals, who work with young people often, due to geographical isolation and financial constraints, have limited access to cross-sectorial networks, continuing education and the broader research and evidence bases that can inform effective practice.
Who is eligible to apply?
Women from across rural Victoria who work with young people for example secondary school teachers, nurses, student welfare coordinators, youth workers, police and social workers.

When will the 4 day workshop be held?
From Monday 11th September to Thursday 14th September. Participants will stay overnight on Sunday 10th Sept and for the following 3 nights.

What is included?
A travel allowance of up to $150, full accommodation and some meals.

Venue: Centre for Adolescent Health
2 Gatehouse St
Parkville Victoria 3052
