One-day workshop: AOD and Young People, NSW |
| Some people believe that young people and drugs and alcohol go hand in hand. However, many young people do not use illicit drugs, and the vast majority of them will discontinue their use as they get older. Analysing the National Drug Strategy Household Survey 2004 gives some indication of prevalence and manner of drug use in this younger age group. Combined with an understanding of structural determinants of use, this workshop starts to make sense of the often contradictory aspects of young people's drug use. Also included will be a look at the federal government's response to alcohol and youth, and a program to decrease use of alcohol in school age youth. |
